Find Internships Post a Project Our Story

Guidelines

Rules and standards that keep InternAtlas a trustworthy platform for everyone.

Posting Guidelines.

InternAtlas is built on trust. To maintain quality and protect students, all listings must meet these standards.

✅ Who can post

Universities, research institutes, NGOs, government research departments, and companies with genuine research projects. Individual researchers may post if affiliated with a recognized institution and using an institutional email address.

✅ What qualifies as a research internship

The position must involve active participation in a research project - data collection, analysis, lab work, fieldwork, literature review, or similar academic activities. Bachelor thesis projects, Master thesis positions and Post-Doc opportunities are welcome.

✅ Accuracy & transparency

All information must be accurate and up to date. Clearly state the compensation (paid/unpaid), duration, location and requirements. Do not exaggerate or mislead applicants.

❌ What is not allowed
  • → Regular job offers or commercial employment positions
  • → Internships where the student must pay any fee
  • → Listings from unverifiable or fraudulent organizations
  • → Positions unrelated to research or academic work
  • → Duplicate or spam listings
  • → Listings with false, misleading or incomplete information
⚠️ Consequences of violations

Listings that violate these guidelines will be removed immediately. Repeat offenders or fraudulent listings will result in a permanent ban. We reserve the right to reject any listing without explanation.

Applicant Guidelines.

To make the best impression and protect yourself during your search.

✅ Be honest in your application

Only apply if you genuinely meet the stated requirements. Misrepresenting your qualifications wastes the researcher's time and your own. If you're slightly below the requirements, explain your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

✅ Personalize your application

A tailored motivation letter is far more effective than a generic one. Reference the specific project, explain why it interests you and how your background is relevant.

✅ Respect deadlines

Apply before the stated deadline. Late applications are rarely considered. If you're interested, apply early - researchers often select candidates before the deadline closes.

⚠️ Protect yourself

Never pay any fee to apply for an internship. Legitimate research internships do not require payment from students. If a listing or contact asks you to pay, report it immediately to office@internatlas.org.

❌ Do not
  • → Send identical applications to multiple researchers
  • → Submit false documents or qualifications
  • → Accept an offer and then not show up without notice
  • → Harass researchers if you don't receive a reply
